God, I Thank You!

LORD, I THANK YOU!!

August 7th I turned 48 years old and it is because of You oh Lord that I am even alive to have seen this birthday and I pray for many more. I am so grateful because 3 months ago I was questioning if I would even live. 3 months ago I had a “minor” stroke and every day thereafter I questioned if I would die. I sat on the couch in fear that I would die and telling my children where to find all my important papers. I watched my grandson playing, afraid I would go to sleep and not wake up to see him ever again. I prayed and prayed for God’s hand of mercy to spare my life. And Lord you have done just that. None of us knows the day nor hour of the time that Jesus will call us home and as the days go by and I wake up each morning, I am reminded of how precious each and every single day is.

My birthday was filled with lots of joy and gratefulness. I didn’t take the day off because I am still recouping from missed time while I was in the hospital. I requested tacos for my birthday dinner and pecan pie for dessert. It was so yummy and I probably over ate, but it was oh so very good.

I’ll take off later this month to go to the African American Museum for a day as part of my birthday celebration. All in all, I am just grateful to be alive and blessed to wake up each morning. Prayerfully, I can remember to live each day to the fullest and enjoy the simple things in life and not take a moment for granted.
