10 Day Smoothie & Juice Challenge

I’ve been wanting to do this challenge for a long time and finally I decided to just do it! I’ve been waiting for things to be “perfect” and that will never happen.

So, Oct. 15 was day 1. I had a delicious banana, peanut butter, green smoothie for breakfast and lunch. Dinner was a yummy mango, pear, banana smoothie.

Today, Oct. 16 I made a tomato, orange, pomegranate smoothie for lunch. and I’m thinking for dinner I’ll have a green, peach smoothie.

I’m doing this for a couple of reasons, one to give myself a break from chewing. I LOVE food. I’m a foodie galore, but over the last few weeks, I seriously got tired of chewing. And though you are supposed to chew even when you have a smoothie, I’m not physically chewing anything. The other reasons is I wanted to refresh my palate as much as possible. I’ve been eating way too much junk food and processed food, so I just needed to give my palate a break and start over. I doubt I’ll have as many juices as I’d like because I don’t have my juicer with me. So any juices will most likely be juices that I purchase and not make.

Along with this challenge, I will begin working out again tomorrow. It’s been 2 weeks since I last worked out. I’ve been sick, busy, and just plain tired. However, those are just excuses and an excuse doesn’t give me results. My goal is to lose about 60 lbs. I’d like to lose that weight by the end of 2016, but we shall see. Anything is possible.

So what comes after this, I’ll continue to workout, but I will add food back into my body slowly with broths and soups. Then as I add food I will be leaving out breads, pasta, rice, and as much sugar as possible, unless it’s natural sugars. I will do this up until Thanksgiving end then those things will be consumed in moderation (a couple of times a month). However, I’m eating homemade sourdough rolls, wild rice stuffed squash, and mac-n-cheez for Thanksgiving Dinner. Hmmmmm, I think I need to make out my menu now. 🙂
